Albatross Televoting includes a selection of features adapted towards the fast growing need for public interaction through media:

  • Subscription counters per voting service number or DTMF selection.
  • A certain percentage of the calls or random calls can be routed to an attendant or another IVR service.
  • Contest: First caller or first x number of calls.
  • Filtering question: Only callers that answer a question correctly can vote or take part in a competition.

Albatross envisages the need for two main types of Televoting services:

  • Mass voting – voting by calling one of several numbers, typically used when a TV audience is asked to vote for their favourite artist. There is one number to vote for artist number 1, another to vote for artist number 2 etc. This service is designed for high capacities and low cost per call.
  • IVR voting – this can be used for more complex voting services and/or for services where no extreme traffic peaks are expected. Each call can be treated differently depending on the called party number, calling party number, date/time or voting application. The structure of each IVR can be freely designed by the administrator to facilitate the needs of the particular contest or voting session. Data collected from the participants through DTMF signalling can be stored or sent to other systems through the http protocol.

All data retrieved from the callers or created by the service can be monitored in a Web portal. The statistics view covers data such as accepted, rejected and active calls as well as counters per selected DTMF option. The statistics can be displayed per called party number or service and can be aggregated over time. The Televoting service can be activated and deactivated directly or according to schedule.
